Very disappointed in the mealy bugs that came with my plants. I read a review from 2015 in which the person complained about this issue and I hope it was long ago and fixed in their greenhouse but apparently not. I received these in late October and just found an infestation of mealy bugs.

Grew Mealy Bugs NOT healthy herbs

I've been using my AeroGrow for two years now and love it. This is the first time I didn't buy my seed pod set from AeroGrow, but instead ordered this Miracle Gro Seed Pod set. The set looked fine when it came and I planted it about a month ago. As soon as the seeds started to sprout it was apparent there was a problem--the starts didn't look healthy and there were little white specs in the soil in the pod around the sprouts. Those specs have hatched! They are little mealy bugs and there are hundreds of them. More than half of the plants have lost their battle and died. I'm going to have to take the entire Aero Grow tub outside and dispose of these pods and deep clean the system to eradicate the bugs and any remaining larva. I tried to ask for a replacement via the "return or replace" button and was told it was too late for a return. This is very frustrating. I planted the pods a few weeks after receiving and it took a few weeks for the larva to hatch. Now I'm out the cost of the pod set and the weeks of growing time! I will NOT purchase another Miracle-Gro seed pod set but go back to the AeroGrow company for pods.

Watch out for mold!

I purchased this kit after the mint pod in my 6-pod kit (which came with my unit) failed to germinate. I figured I'd use either the mint or the chives this time, and have six pods left for next time. The only problem with that: all of the pods are moldy! No mint grew, but I got a lovely crop of fluffy white mold instead. I pulled out that pod and got rid of it, and then tried the chives pod. Same thing. I am sending it back for a refund, and just covering the one hole that isn't filled. From now on, I think I'm going to buy my kits locally, because whoever is supplying Amazon with their kits seems to be dumping junk on them.

Purchased this set after I received the Aero Grow at a charity silent auction. I have no idea what I am doing, and I wanted an herb set (the prize came with flowers), so I ordered this. I followed all the directions exactly, and at first all seemed to be going well, however, I did notice they were taking a little longer to sprout than it said on the pod. Once they started to grow, I noticed that the roots were not strong. Sure enough, once the basil grew to about 6 inches high the stalk broke (on its own) off right at the root. The parsley is only about 8 inches high and has only about 5 leaves, and it's been months. The dill is taking over my kitchen and is the only one I am happy with (but now I don't know what to do with all of the dill, I just bought the set for the basil and parsley really). There is mold on the pods, and tiny bugs flying and dying all over the Aerogarden. For the record, I also thought I was purchasing direct from AeroGrow (that's what it said n the page) but apparently now my purchases list says Boonerban? I hope that the problem is with the pods, and not that the Aerograden sucks, but if so I am glad the money went to charity. The one star is that the liquid miracle grow helped my house plant look super healthy.

I have two aerogardens that I absolutely LOVE. I usually by my pods from the Aerogarden website but thought "Hey, I'll give Amazon a try with free two day prime shipping!" anyways I get the set of nine pods and promptly set them up. The Basil and Thai Basil sprouted up quickly followed by the Dill. Well the dill died shortly after and nothing else sprouted in the six weeks it has been in the aerogarden. So out of the nine pods I have two that grew and thrived. Next time I will spend the extra money to buy direct from the manufacturer since they guarantee their pods and will replace them if they do not sprout or die, I believe it is a one year replacement. I went on to Amazon to see about getting these replaced and it said since it was over thirty days I could not get a refund, which I think is crazy because the cilantro seed pod can take at least twenty days before you see any growth on it.

This was our replacement pods for the first pods we received with the garden. I don't know whether they were old or just bad, but they never sprouted. Having just done the same thing a short while before with our first pods we know that they shoudl have sprouted within the timeframe we expected.

After a few days when we were looking for the sprouts, all we noticed was something that looked like mold on top. After reading on here how some folks ended up getting bugs from their pods, i quickly threw them out.

This was a complete waste of money for me. Don't buy pods from this seller.

So far so good/ as of dec 15th everything is growing as planned and they sprouted before the day it was supposed to be.

So far I received my pods on Friday and the thyme, and Genoves basil is Sprouting that is 5 days from when I planted them. The basil says 6-12 days and the thyme says 7-14 days. I think they are doing well. The chives started also. curly parsley,dill, or Thai basil or mint noting yet. It has only been 5 days. I took the covers off because it seems the Thai basil looks a bit fuzzy might be to much Moisture so later I will put caps back on. As of January 10th everything came out and getting ready to transfer to small pot and start the process over. What a great way to have fresh herbs. And I have to say that you have to pay special attention when you have the And They Start to Sprout That You Remove Them Once You Start to See Let Them Get Some Air. If you don’t that’s how the mold and everything else starts you have to give a little air put the cap on it has to go back-and-forth.
