Za’atar

This is a great Make It YOUR Own spice mix. You can add more sumac if you like it a little more tangy, or more salt if you’re using it on meat. Switch up the herbs with some marjoram instead of thyme. Just brushing a pita bread with olive oil, and sprinkling it with Za’atar and baking it till crisp makes for a yummy snack with a bowl of hummus.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp Dried Thyme Can use half thyme, half oregano to make it YOUR own!
  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 1 tsp Ground Sumac Berries
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher salt

Instructions
 

  • Put all of the ingredients into a spice grinder and pulse until a powder is formed, about 30 to 45 seconds. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
