Blackened Spice Blend

This is one of those Spice Mixes that you can use for almost anything. It’s a quick marinade if you make a paste with some olive oil, or just sprinkle it on any protein or vegetable before grilling to ramp it up to another level. You can adjust the seasoning to Spice it YOUR Way, and if you don’t like heat, you can leave out the cayenne or just add a pinch.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Stir together all ingredients and add to an airtight jar or storage container. Store in a cool, dark place until ready to use.

Recipe Notes

This is an all purpose spice mix. Use it on chicken wings, ribs, fish, shrimp and vege's. Make it a marinade and mix 1 tbsp spice mix with 2-3 tbsp oil, any kind, and rub it on your meat. Let sit 10 minutes up to overnight. Grill as usual. Make it an authentic American barbecue and serve with potato salad and baked beans, or keep it totally Caribbean and serve it with rice and beans .
