Vanilla Sugar

This is probably about one of the easiest recipes you’ll ever make. Vanilla beans are expensive, so getting the most bang for your buck out of these tasty pods is not only good on your wallet, but good for your taste buds!Vanilla Sugar

Vanilla Sugar

Course Breakfast, Brunch, Dessert
Cuisine German

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Granulated white sugar
  • 2 Vanilla beans

Instructions

  • Add the sugar to a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Ball Jars work great.
  • Using a sharp paring knife, slice the vanilla bean length-wise. Use the back of the knife and scrape out the tiny black vanilla seeds.
  • Add the seeds and the bean to the sugar. Place the lid on the container and shake it up. Let the vanilla flavor permeate the sugar for a at least a week, until the vanilla infuses the sugar.
  • If you use vanilla beans in recipes, add the vanilla bean to the sugar and keep the flavor going!
