This spice mix is delicious, it’s fragrant and can be used to simply season meat before grilling, or add it to rice dishes. The rose petals can be hard to find, but I have the place. Click here to get some today! There are many variations made specifically for the dish you are using them in. Try one, try them all! Some of these spices are a little hard to find, you can get them here, either whole or ground.

Advieh for Fish

- 2 tbsp Cumin
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp Turmeric
- 1/2 tbsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tbsp Red chili flakes
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp Fenugreek leaves dried
Advieh for Stew
- 4 tbsp Coriander
- 2 tbsp Rose petals dried
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Dried lime (seeds removed)
- 4 tsp Cumin
- 2 tsp Cardamom
- 2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tbsp Cloves or star anise
- 1/8 tsp Nutmeg
Instructions
- If you have ground spices, simply mix them in a bowl. If you have whole spices, grind them in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle, mix together and keep in an airtight container.
- If you wanted to get really adventurous, you could toast the whole spices until fragrant in a cast iron pan and then grind them to a powder. I would not toast the rose petals, dried limes or fenugreek though, as they will burn easily and ruin the mixture.
Notes
This mix smells awesome, but it smells better than it tastes right out of the jar. It'll be bitter if you just taste the raw spices, but after you make something with it, you'll be hooked!
